So...it's been awhile - hello to old and new friends! *waves* I don't post often, but you can trust hope that what I do have to say is of vital cosmic significance....

Where was I?

Oh yes, firstly, thank-you to treacle_tartlet, cassie_black12, nicevenn, and brissygirl for the cute Yorkie V gifts!

Secondly, how about all of this wonderful fic and art that's been posting lately, huh?! I'm way behind, but will get through it - my must read list grows daily.

Speaking of the "F" word, my hd_holidays and hd_remix fics are now with my first beta-of-awesome waiting to be systematically taken apart so I can do a Steve Austin on them. I'm halfway through hp_yule_balls, which is proving slightly trickier because it's not only for a friend that I absolutely love, but it's also a genre and pairing I've not written much of (any of, really) before. I've recruited two very able writers to carry cheer-lead me through it, and I'm certainly loving the process, even if the end result is Bantha poo-doo.

Thirdly, I'm all excited because I'm meeting up with dark0feenix and anyone else who's interested in London on Tuesday! I'm really looking forward to a day of shopping, lunch and gossip. Please let me know if you'd like to join us!!!

Fourthly, happy birthday to my toy-boy for tomorrow! He'll be a whole 30 years old!! WooOT! Nothing especially big planned to celebrate it (unless getting my flu jab counts) and anyway, we're all far too damn busy in the next few weeks. He's being deployed again in early November till the middle of January, so it's all go here getting stuff sorted out and recruiting slaves friends to help out as my life doesn't actually get LESS busy during that time. Where is Molly Weasley when I need her?!

And finally, there's no way I'm sitting through another SCD Results Show and have already looked up who's gone out. Not my first choice, but it was bound to happen. My first choice was the other person in the bottom two, who never fails to make me want to smash something upside his/her head.

*Baseball not on Channel 5 anymore- must get ESPN on Setanta and I can't afford to get a whole package of sports that I'll never watch.

*USB lead not working on phone- that might be why pictures never download. Have ordered another one. Memory card on camera ALSO buggered.

*So-called friend who said she'd give me DVD of last BSG episode has told me she can't now, so GOD ONLY KNOWS when I'm going to see it. Someone might as well tell me what happens. I daresay I'll see it eventually, but can't beta very effectively without knowing.

*Asthma STILL not sorted- tried 3 different strengths of inhaled steroid and back to GP tomorrow. But at least it's better controlled than it was and I was able to get to the gym tonight, even if only for 30 mins.

*Bloody chlostridium difficile briefing needs to be done tomorrow and I've still got a bit to do on it, plus got GP appointment in the AM. I've asked everyone I follow on Twitter for help with it. I can't imagine why no one's piped up.

*Can't find my P60 so I have absolutely no clue how much money I made in total last year, so I'm just going to guess based on a couple of old payslips. Luckily the IRS doesn't need anything more from ex-pats with no domestic income, but I still have to file two bloody forms. You don't need to tell the IRS I said any of that, btw.

*Voice still gone from coughing and shouting all weekend, but that was mostly self-inflicted. I'm going to bitch about it anyway.

Please, please rec me your favourite fics to read as comfort tonight (after I've filed my 1040EZ and 2555, of course). Whatever your favourite is- any fandom, any pairing, it can be one of yours or someone else's. If you're not into fic, I'd love to see whatever your favourite piece of fan art is. Again, it can be any fandom.

I'm up for anything- I'd even re-read that terrible Marauder fic kilter MST3K'ed.

Gads, you all know how much I (don't) love the town of Swindon- I attend so many meetings there I don't know why I still consider myself employed by Oxfordshire at this rate- LOL!

BUT, after doing some searching on line, it looks as though it may be one of the places we consider buying a house. They're a lot cheaper than anywhere in Oxon, which is soooo £££ and I'd really like a four-bedroom house, even though Doug insists we only need three.

Also, one of the schools I'm considering sending my kids to is closer to Swindon than here, although it's still on this side of the border. Not that I don't want my kids educated in Wiltshire but I'd have to drive by it on the way into Oxford anyway and I really liked it when I was visiting for the imms clinics we held.

My commute would be a bit longer, but not by that much as there's a big A Road between Swindon and Oxford. Doug said a lot of guys he works with here at Benson live in Swindon (although it's a lot closer to RAF Brize Norton), but still not too far from here.

Now all we have to do is find a 25% down payment and we're smiling. Yessssss... Watch this space. Anything has to be better that this place.
