Weekend Round-Up

Am actually having a rather productive weekend, both virtually and in RL. Nice for a change...

First, thank you SO much for all the nice birthday comments for the kids:) I didn't have time to reply individually but I have passed all of your birthday wishes to the twins.

Second, the hp_uk_meetup continues to gain force. We're now up to 28 people and organising like mad. A bazillionty thanks to my co-organiser cassie_black12 who's still (I hope) not sick of spending hours on the telephone with me most every night. I can't wait to meet everyone, not least of all my room-mate, who's promised me chocolate. (Course, I've promised her beer...)

Third *does happy dance* to celebrate getting a spot on hd_holidays this year. It may not happen again, but I'm delighted to be writing for this fest for the first time and I love my prompt.

And speaking of fests, I've got bottom_draco in the bag (so AU you'll think you're on the wrong comm), I'm about 1K short of finishing my hp_cross_fest, and am very happy to say that my FIRST fest has now nearly come to a rip-roaring end with the posting of the hp_sas Anonymous Masterlist.

In HSU news, I'd like to welcome my neighbour (the Librarian)'s new EA to campus and am warning him to stay away from my doctor - he didn't do anything to you in any time, so please, for my sanity and the Pub's stock of Wild Turkey, be nice to him. Can I also remind the Dean and the IT Girl that school starts tomorrow and I'd now better have all the supplies for the boys by tonight or Laure's EA is gonna jump up and down all over me (in a figurative sense) and I'll never bloody hear the end of it.

And could someone please explain to me why I have to go back to work tomorrow?

He's dragging me to that welcoming dinner thingie. They have booze, right? And I'm not wearing a robe that completely hides my figure. I don't spend my days lazing around on the beach to be covered head to foot in a shroud.

Oh, and, yes, you're in charge of your boys and if they're not prepared for school, he'll yell at you. A lot. It's not fun, though when he cools down he takes me shopping.

He doesn't get to take you shopping.

How the hell would I know if there's booze? It's bad enough I have to sit next to Bail O every Thursday night at State dinners, so don't go asking me what goes on in some remote Scottish castle. Every time I've snuck in there I've brought my own.

At least the food is better than those dry chicken dinners you sit through every week. Why do you do that again? I mean, really, Bail is so not the conversationalist.

The Dog says I smell like Deatheater and the Dean's PA tried to turn me into a toad the last time I talked to him--some little spat with Severus, I'm sure, and nothing to do with me snatching chocolate from his candy bowl.

Here- it's not mine- I stole it from my EA. I sit through those because technically it's a date with my Senator (who sits across from me and flirts with whoever the hostess is). And the dinners aren't always dry. And they're certainly not chicken. God knows what they are... bantha?

At any rate, if you want to keep cashing that paycheque at the Bank of Naboo, you'll keep your trap shut and keep your EAs off my back. That goes for your crazy Roman, too.

I have no control over the crazy Roman. Actually I have no control over any of my men. I think I need an extended spa/shopping trip away from them. They're all driving me nuts!

Actually, I've been thinking of making them all get jobs (except for Aragorn and Sev who already have them). My paycheck barely covers their expenses let alone mine. Thank god for Offworld credit cards.

Speaking of Offworld, remember that Xani fic I started forever ago? I read it again and I'm almost tempted to continue it...

I told you, the GF said he's pay for school supplies. What those children did with the galleons he gave them for said supplies is so not my problem.

Particularly since you keep calling him Dog. All he's ever done is throw galleons at TBWL, and that's the thanks he gets.

In fact, now that I've taken the matter under consideration, no more galleons for TBWL, and the cupboard in the Pub is now a designated compost bin.

I think the only EA we have here with pointy ears belongs to Kendra. And I couldn't care less what happens to him as I'm pissed off with her for throwing all those limes into her damn cabinet.
