I will give out the proper birthday thanks tomorrow as it would take too long to do it now and I want to play since the kids are in bed (pretending to be asleep). But as it is: THANKS TO EVERYONE!!! I love my flist!

I have put up a picture of Peter Cushing here because it's his birthday too, today (although sadly he's no longer with us). I also share my birthday with John Wayne, Isadora Duncan and Helena Bonham Carter. She's special insofar as we were born the same year as well as the same day- the same year the Beatles became big and the same year Star Trek first aired- 1966. And although it's fair to say, HBC probably has more noteriety than I do, I definitely have better hair. And eyebrows.

The picture of Peter Cushing is also a reminder of one of my first and favourite fandoms (SW), one I've loved since I was 11. I'm also a fan of Hammer Horror films and I find it amusing that they mostly starred Cushing and Christopher Lee, whose birthday is tomorrow. Can you imagine how much fun they had on the set at the end of May?

At any rate, I thought I'd celebrate my formative years with this little waltz downn memory lane.

And now the DRABBLE thing. The first five people to respond get one. Need a fandom and pairing please and any prompt if you have one. If not, don't worry.

I just really needed banter today! Now, if you were to write McCoy/female fic, I'd be THRILLED. :D

I know, I can't say anything, because I can't write crap anymore!

Love that icon! I need to find scruffy McCoy icons.

I always think "Oh, I'm going to fic that!" And then I realize I can't actually write anything! Oh well.

There are lots of icons here:
http://www.karlurbanonline.com/English/frames.html

The site has annoying frames, but go to Images and then Icons. My icon is Reaper (his character in Doom - baaaad movie, hawt Karl with a big gun and combat gear; totally worth watching). She has icons from everything there. From bad Xena episodes to Eomer to Bones.

Yep, same thing happens to me. And I saw TPM at least 4 or 5 times before I tried to write anything, I doubt I'll make it back to Star Trek that many times!

Whee! Thanks! I've seen Doom, at least twice! Karl is yummy in that.

Don't know...not into that, but I'll give it a try, seeing as you recc'ed it.

And can't you take your squicky het talk to a more appropriate venue, please? Also, Dean, I know you can write (Tav, Lucius, Sirius), you can do this too!

Oh, by the way, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee rock the world (even posthumously), and you're far more sane than HBC (in addition to the hair and eyebrow issue). I don't think Bellatrix is much of a stretch for her.

Did you know Isadora Duncan's brother pretended to be an ancient Greek (with togas and everything)? He was kind of like a really early hippie. Then later he tried to start a new city halfway between New York and Paris. He was going to call it New Paris York but it would have been somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic (lat. 45N, long. 36W) so it never panned out.
