Weekend Round-Up

nursedarryHello everyone. It's been quite a week for me in RL both at work and home, hence the absence for the last few days.
To start with, I have to report the sad loss of our kitty Blanche, who, yesterday, finally succumbed to old age (with some assistance from the vet). We loved her to bits and miss her terribly.

hp_cross_fest, seeing as I've left a prompt or four. And a HUGE thank you to the wonderful women who are now beta-ing my hp_sas fic!

Speaking of which, Cineworld Didcot just happened to have a shit-load of HBP tix for the 15th available when I was in there picking up Ice Age 3 tix. Huzzah!

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Gads, I can't remember now, but I was there at the beginning- and so it begins... I think it was because there was a dearth of sci-fi shows on when it started and the graphics (new at the time:) were just amazing. And the story was fresh with a fantastic cast of characters.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I've moved on, as it were, but I'll always play in it so long as there's someone else to play with!
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
That's really hard. I could not answer that, but I suppose for lack of anything better, I'll say the final, final episode. Anything with Londo, Marcus or Kosh in it is a winner in my book!
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I beta fanfic as and when it comes across my computer, and I certainly read it. Met Jason Carter (Marcus) at DragonCon and had a nice chat with him whislt sharing a fag (back when I still smoked).
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I don't know if that's applicable. Certainly I do, but since the series is over, it's hard to say if that'll happen.
Star Trek
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Believe it or not, I think I was channel surfing when I was about 9 years old when I came across TOS (which first aired the year I was born). From then on I was hooked!
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Will stay forever. I've been here through crap films and actors' demises and I'll still be playing when TOS will be just a faded memory in the minds of us octogenarians.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
My favourite series is DS9, but TOS will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. So, for that, I'll say "A Piece of the Action". My favourite movie changes daily, depending on mood. (I'm dl'ing "First Contact" onto my iPod at the moment.)
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Hell, yes.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I think there's plenty enough out there, but we can always use more.
Harry Potter
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
The desire- the DESPERATE NEED- to get my hands on as much h/d fic as possible.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Who can say? I don't think I'll ever go off the fic, but my activity will depend on RL constraints and interests in other fandoms.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
"Goblet of Fire", although "Prisoner of Azkaban" is a close second.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Hmmm...that would be a big "yes". I'm been back into it since last year after a long hiatus following the birth of the twins.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
See answer for ST: the more the merrier! I'm loving all the cross-gen and next-gen stuff, so I think there's a little something for everyone here!
I'll be asking everyone if they want to participate at a later date, as I'm really too busy at the moment to do a proper job of it :(
