Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, Parades, Update & Fic

Yes, fic! It's coming...prepare for spammage.

First off, Happy Valentine's Day to all of my flist and friends and Happy Chinese New Year to everyone I know who's celebrating. And happy belated birthday to pink_mint! Check your in-tray, darlin' (at least your pressie was on time...I hope).

If I were back at uni, I'd be gearing up for Bacchus tonight, which is THE BEST Uptown krewe, imo, so have a great time to anyone who's going! I'm sooo jealous! (No, I never flashed my tits for long beads - how can you even insinuate such a thing...*cough*)

Thank you to the people who nominated me for a LJValentine!!! And thank you to lotus_lizzy, stellamoon, and cassie_black12 for the cards! Huge thanks to the boys on the Gryff team (whoever you are - the year wasn't specified, so I'm assuming it's ALL of you:) for the great cuddly teddy vgift. It was in a box that opened today! And it's quickly making friends with the bear hug vgift sent to me by cassie_black12, who, I suspect knew that would happen all along.

It's very quiet at Chez Nursedarry these days. Mr Nursedarry is still away and because of the offensive now taking place, all civvy communication to and from Afghanistan has shut down - I haven't heard from him in almost a week, but no news is, in this case, good news. My in-laws drove down from Scotland to take the kids to Wiltshire for half-term - no, really - so I'm spending Valentine's Day doing homework and finishing up some presentations for work. (And watching the Olympics and the Poirot marathon.) I did get out yesterday to watch the rugby with a another Scotland supporter who's wife's in the Falklands. What a shitty game that was! BUT, it won't be quiet here much longer with the descent of several fandom crazies into the Benson area very shortly!

I've already got my two (rather obvious) prompts made over at hd_smoochfest and can't wait to claim one! (Actually, I want MINE!) Am now just waiting to see what's happening with hp_sas, because, honesetly, I could do with some more H/Sc and D/AS in my life. *nods*

So, a Valentine's Day ♥ to my hubby and a huge wave all of the others from 78th Squadron posted at Camp Bastion! *kiss, kiss* (Er, those kisses were just for my husband, guys).

And, in the spirit of the day, I'd like to give my love amd thanks to my wonderful flist, my amazing fandoms, and my fantastic RL friends for all of the lust, love and happy endings you've provided me.

Author's Notes: phoenixacid, I saw this pic and thought, if I don’t choose that one, I’ll regret it. I had a good idea about what I wanted to write and how it would sound. But in the course of writing it, Real Life snuck up on me, and because of that, the story is a bit disjointed. This was written over a long period of time, just as the story takes place over a long period of time and as a result, the tone changes dramatically throughout. I make no apology for that, as we all feel differently at different points in our lives (even the good Professor who’s narrating, despite all evidence to the contrary), so please indulge me.
