A long time ago...

Twelve years ago today, I joined LJ. As you can probably imagine, the following day's RL events rather overtook most of our lives, and although my listserves were buzzing back then, my flist was relatively quiet for nearly a year.

BUT, I thought the anniversary was worth noting. And as much as the administration of Live Journal continues to disappoint me with its unceasing efforts to conform to other sites, this place will always be special to me because of YOU.

I've had an exciting(!) last 12 years, and although fandom loyalties and the popularity of new social networking spaces occasionally drive us further afield, it's still you lot - my flist, my fandom family - that keeps me faithfully and firmly here.

happy Anniversary! I know what you mean... I wish LJ was what it used to be to me, but between lack of time, lack of HP, etc. I am not around and feeling a little estranged. But these moments are good to note.

This! And this is one reason why I remain an editor of the Prophet; it connects me to HP and keeps me part of this brilliant LJ family.

And how fun is it that I find other fandoms in common with my flist! I just wish I had more time to discover new ones!

Wow, what an event to sort of usher in your blogging, huh? I wish I'd been on LJ then. I just really needed to talk about 9/11...and talk and talk and talk, I think. I was just watching a show about it 10 minutes ago (while eating supper), and I was tearing up all over again.
