Because writing AS/S is a rather nice way of leading up to H/D of course :D

Personally, I'm rather fond of the "mildly-bickering H/D stumble across AS/S getting frisky and both men fall suspiciously quiet and red-faced and can't look each other in the eyes" scenario :)

Me too! I don't personally like H/S or D/AS but I do love H/D+AS/S - it's just too wonderful. I wish there were more stories featuring both pairings.
