Sort yourself out

For the last month, I've not been a healthy bunny. I caught a mild chest infection (which I didn't know I had) and then had two weeks of the most annoying, racking and terrible-sounding cough known to man. When it failed to go away (or stop being productive), I visited doc who told me my exercise-induced asthma had become regular asthma. Yes, oh joy.

Not to bore you with the details, I'm finally getting better, but still have the occasional racking-can't-breathe-to-save-my-life cough (usually in the morning. I'm sure my neighbours think I smoke 40 fags a day.)

Anyway, I was driving four-and-a-half-year-old kids to their daycare before school this morning and told them that today was the last day they would have to wear a tie as they'll change over to their summer uniforms after the hols. There were shouts of "hurray!" but I told them they would get their ties back in the autumn. The ties have their school colours on (see pic).

So son says "Next year, I want a green tie." Mummy splutters a bit and says that he has to wear the colour of the school he attends. (Our neighbour's son attends a different school down the road, whose uniforms are green, so he knows they exist.)

"Okay," says son. "how about a yellow one?" Mummy loses fight with lungs and hacks up a fur ball all the way to the gate, where guard with big gun looks at her like she's completely nuts.

Which she is.

Thankfully, Twin One (also known as "daughter") is happy with current colour choice.

Right, more composed, now I'll bid everyone a fond farewell, as early next week we'll be jumping on that medium-sized red, white, and blue bird and heading north of the border and the *insert expletive here* in-laws' house. Talk to everyone again from there.

Have a great weekend and hols, flist!

*cough, cough*

You just need to start practicing some good, clean livin', so you stop getting sick. (I know, who am I kidding?)

Funny! I can't see the boy in a green tie. The girl, on the other hand, I can (given our notion of green tie wearers actually being 3-dimensional characters, that is).

If only!

The only thing I've done all month that WASN'T good clean living was eat too much ice cream. Dammit.
