hp_cross_fest came back from betas and is now in the bag. It's a little...weird, but I'm actually pretty happy with the result. Kinda.
Made a start (a very, very brief start) on my
hd_holidays and have gotten up to 10K on my
harrypotterbang fic. Which, for its length, has absolutely no plot yet (if it ever does). This is by far too much fun to write as it's gonna be full of my favourite kinks and I haven't even gotten to most of them yet! At the moment it's all fumbling in the dark (no bad thing really)!
Right, the
hp_sas reveals went up yesterday and I can reveal that I wrote
Rising Up Through the Air for the amazing author
romaine24. This was my first-ever fest fic and I had such a blast writing it (as well as tons of support). The title was taken from the song
Hotel California and just for the hell of it, I tried to incorporate a lot of the song's lyrics into the fic, mostly because the story was going to be set in California, which it ended up
not being. What
was I thinking?! Anyway, I thank my lovely betas for their superlative help with this, and from this experience, I've obviously been bitten by the fest bug!
Now, to go on and on about my gift from
hp_sas. This was a wonderful story called
The Apprentice written by
noeon. Early on, we had a complete anonymity fail whilst trying to tell each other who we were writing for without
exactly telling each other, if you know what I mean. So, although I knew who was writing it, I had no idea how
frakking good it was going to be. This fic is smokin' hawt and so IC it hurts! I am so pleased with my gift and chuffed that my fellow HSU Ho was the writer!
And finally, before leaving
hp_sas: many thanks to the wonderful mods, who not only gave me a great F/T fest experience, they also treated me ultra-well by allowing me to
preview proof the wonderful fics and surprised me with lovely virtual gifts! So huge hugs and a plateful of millionaire's shortbread goes
softlysweetly and
marguerite_26!
Riiight, onwards to the
hp_uk_meetup. This is gonna be goooood! Make sure you're up to date with the info and have paid if you've been billed, please, and we'll see you ever so sooon!
Now I gotta go buy shoes for the twins. Again. Sheesh.
