One hand reaching out then grasped by another.
Bodies slamming together, falling through rough canvas to the ground- warmer here without the wind but noisy from the crowd above.
Hands with supple fingertips and rough palms pulling at robes, at hair; a different prize.
A bewildered query, an incoherent response, a lusty truce.
Insistent tongues sliding against lips and into mouths, the frenzied clutching of hidden flesh.
A lifetime passes. Then—
A familiar voice asking who is holding what they seek.
