Hello all - you may have noticed that I've been friending people right and left on Dreamwidth - sorry for the spammage. I've no intention of using that as my main account at the moment, but it's there and getting customised (slowly) just in case.

So, the news - such as it is:

My in-laws' ferry to the Continent (they're taking their camper van to Greece) leaves tonight, so their visit is almost over. I moan about them a lot, but they're mostly harmless, and of course the beauty of marrying into a goy family is that I only get the slight disapproving looks and passive aggressive parenting comments, rather than the full-on "You're doing it wrong" I constantly hear from the ghost of my paternal grandmother, whom I'm sure is haunting my kitchen.

The kids start back at school tomorrow, so it's uniforms at the ready and new shiny shoes to show off. The school only has one Year 2, so it'll be back to her doing all of his work and him letting her (sound familiar?).

I've got new shiny-s to show off: the yaoi-tastic [livejournal.com profile] joan_waterhouse made me a lovely new background for my Twitter account and the Next-Generous [livejournal.com profile] arineat wrote me the best in-law fic! I'd also like to thank [livejournal.com profile] alaana_fair for being the soul of patience whilst I tried to shift [livejournal.com profile] snitches_n_smut over to Dreamwidth. And, apparently, I was [livejournal.com profile] khasael's first. (ROAR for having a fangirl of my own!)

For those of you awaiting your emails from [livejournal.com profile] hd_remix, they're due to go out tonight Brit time :D

Right, time for lunch. Have a wonderful long Labor Day weekend, for those of you who get one.

I am liking it here more and more.

Ages back, I asked LJ (via suggestions) if they could perhaps move the "Log Out" button away from the "Friends" button, as, on a phone, it was too easy to hit "Log Out" by mistake, particularly when on train or Tube or in a hurry, like when having a cheeky look-in during work.

Did I hear anything back? Yes, weeks later, I heard back from them saying that they'd already received that suggestion. End of message.

So, just to test out what response I'd get from DW, I made the same suggestion (using DW vocabulary, of course). I heard back the next day with this:

Hi Darry,

We've actually had some discussion about this very problem on a suggestion post (http://dw-suggestions.dreamwidth.org/327953.html) and based on the tag on that post, the suggestion was migrated to our bug tracking system for implementation.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long that implementation will take, because no developers have picked up the bug yet. But we do plan to do it eventually!

Best,
Dom

So, even if nothing gets done about it in the long run, they've still done more than LJ did when asked.
