The Beginning of the End (warning-TMI)
Apr. 9th, 2008 07:05 pmClue 1: For six months my periods have been all over the place with no PMS, but usually occuring every fortnight (which sucked).
Clue 2: Moodiness to the point of violence against husband when request for piece of chocolate (that I bought for him, mind you!) was denied.
Clue 3: Night sweats not associated with the hot-water bottle I sleep next to (the aforementioned husband).
Clue 4: Menarche at 14. And evidently, the older you are when you start the younger you are when you stop.
Clue 5: Report from my mother that menopause occured for her at around 45. (She and I had identical morning sickness experiences, not that that means anything...)
Still though, this was a no-brainer.
So here I am starting what could possibly be a 5- to 10-year course of HRT. And so far, I love it. There's no history of cancer in any female member of my family, I can now predict my bleeds, don't have an uncontrollable apetite anymore, I've not woken up in the middle of the night in a puddle, and best of all, I haven't wanted to throttle my husband for awhile (at least for a bit longer than usual).
Am also really enjoying my holiday, which finishes on Friday. Kids at nursery from 9-2:30 and I have all the time in the world to get to the gym/pool daily, play on-line, and catch up with the baseball I've taped twice a week.
Many thanks to Dor for the quick advice via Skype the other day and wish me luck in this newest endeavour.
