Hi again, everyone.

For some reason this new version of LJ doesn't like any of the new icons I'm trying to upload, so I'm stuck with these for the moment unless some kind soul makes some for me (major hinting, there).

Doug's been away since the middle of January doing a propulsion course down in Staffordshire. He's due back on Valentine's Day. Kids coping really well without Daddy here. They "talk" to him on the phone occasionally and they've been pretty good whenever we're out and they're eating and sleeping well.

Claire told me she loved me tonight. I almost cried. (Having said that, she heard me say that to her and Iain earlier this evening and probably has no clue what it means, but still...)

Found a dress for my friend Sarah's wedding (Aug 31). All the boys are wearing kilts, so I wanted something that wouldn't clash too badly with the Douglas tartan. It's kind of a teal colour (I think- it hasn't arrived yet). I didn't want to wear anything too dark, but I also wanted to find something that I could wear for the Moray School Nurse's Christmas "do". Also, anything too light would clash with Doug. I can't believe how all the empire/wrap dresses that are so popular at the moment (are in the most godawful prints. Anyway, this is the best I could find with a little "oomph". Any idea about shoes? I'm also eschewing the British tradition and not wearing a hat- the dress is busy enough. If it doesn't suit me, there are a couple of plain dresses I can order and then might wear a hat.

(Apologies if the link doesn't work-LJ still seems to hate me.) Sizes here are different, btw. A 12 (which is what I wear) is an American 8, in case you were confused by the description. I hate cleaning silk, but it looks like a nice design.

Right, that's all I can be bothered to contribute at the moment. It is nice to have the computer to myself these days, but I'm knackered.

Miss y'all!
