I've just re-read my entry in that H/D Friending Meme and OMG, I sound like the dullest twat in the universe.

That may be mostly true, but not entirely, and if dysonrules hadn't been so bored at work and pounced on my post two seconds after it went up, I could have changed it, but NOOOooooooo!!!

Am thinking I might just delete it and make some shit up or post a funny gif or something.



* I'm older than you; this I can pretty much guarantee. If I'm not, I will be soon.

* I'm a nurse and public health specialist. I work for Berkshire West Primary Care Trust until it goes *poof* into the re-shuffled NHS ether in 2012. I've also been a practice nurse, a theatre (OR) nurse, a school nurse, and a unit nurse for the Scottish film and television industry. Before all that, I worked for the CDC in Atlanta. Before nursing school (at the Royal Free Hospital, London) and graduate school (at Tulane University, New Orleans), I did a BS in (physical) anthropology and biology (also at Tulane). So, I'm happy to talk about australopithecines if nursing isn't your bag.

* In fact, I'm happy to talk about anything. Ask anyone, I will talk until the cows come home.

* I am married to a nice boy from Edinburgh (and I mean boy; he's much younger than I am), who's an aircraft engineer in the Royal Air Force. Shortly after we married, he and I thought it might be nice to a have a baby... until my first scan, when the midwife kindly informed us we'd be having two babies. I therefore have a six-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, who nearly almost, but not always, are joys to be around. (The same can also be said of my husband.)

* I play in a few fandoms, HP, obviously, also BSG, the Dune series (all of it), Star Trek (any incarnation), and my first love, the original Star Wars Trilogy. I'm also a fan of yaoi, and would marry Youka Nitta if it were legal and she'd have me.

* I don't post often, unless it's to squee about something or ask you for a favour. I do occasionally post the odd (and I do mean odd), piece of fic, which I hope you'll like, but it's okay if you don't. I absolutely LOVE how fandom is a place for all likes and dislikes and love that on LJ you can meet people who share these things.

* Speaking of sharing, I share my brain with several people in this place, most notably my soul-sister cassie_black12. Together we coerce recruit people to help with and/or attend the hp_uk_meetups. Believe me, you'll hear more about that as the year goes by. I also mod a couple of things, and edit here and there. My oldest and dearest RL friends, ladyoneill and delphipsmith are also here, along with the person I know I can bitch to 24/7, the marvelous kilter.

* Along with fandom folk, I also love baseball, the gym, sushi, shopping, roller coasters, chocolate, iced tea, the cinema, trains, R&B music, mysteries, the beach, the mountains, snakes and spiders (yes, real ones), men in uniform, and meeting new people.

If you've read through all that (or even if you haven't), I know you're probably bored now. I'll leave you with this simple task in order for me to learn a little something about you.

Please replace the Xs with the names of people who AREN'T your OTP. For instance, if you're leo_draconis and you put "Harry" and "Draco", I'll know you're lying, and will hit you over the head with your own spleen (don't think that I can't!).

YOUKA NITTA. ZOMIGOD. totally adore her work. I've read almost everything of hers that is free online. I would love to buy her stuff but I don't have my own money and it's harder to get where I am. :( there IATA so many yaoi's that I'd love to own.

HARU WO DAITeITA is my favourite, and I've read a lot of yaoi to the point of obsession. Iwaki and Kato remind me of HarryDraco so much.

If I had to choose in this fandom it would be Severus and Lucius and then Delphi would want me dead so that's probably not the right way to go...

Spike and Angelus? Well, they'd probably kill me, too.

Can I just watch either Dean and Cas or Sam and Gabriel go at it? I wouldn't want to get in the way of angels and their men. (That would be Supernatural, my current obsession).

Haha, I almost want to say something bad like Ron and Draco! LOL! Imagine how awful that would be!!! And I can't say Ron and Harry cause that would just be wierd. But all three of them?? There would be so much fighting but I like it. And they would keep wanting to be better than the others. Lol!
