But that's only part of what's happened in the last two months, or since I've had time to actually play with you lot.

Before I start cutting this to save you all from having to read the rest of this post, let me just say a HUGE THANK you to everyone who sent me virtual kisses! I tried to send one to everyone on my flist, but my explativing explative modem doesn't seem to like my new house very much, and it bails every five minutes, so I'm actually pretty chuffed to have got as many sent as I did. I am very, very sorry if I missed you out, but please know that I wanted to snog you stupid, even if I didn't.

Right, now. Why I've been gone and where I'm going, and if you'd like to skip to the end, there's some fic for you:)

We moved )

Then husband went to hospital )

Step right up for your flu jab )

Thank god for fandom )

Now for the fic -

Last week I received a gorgeous piece of school!smut (how did she know?) from one of my favourite writers. I had actually forgotten I left a couple of prompts over at [livejournal.com profile] hd_relief, and was delighted to be presented with this:

Author: [livejournal.com profile] khasael
Title: Relax (don't do it)
Summary: It was only a matter of time before Harry's inability to remember Potions information got him in trouble... although some sorts of trouble are a lot more pleasant than others.
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 3,700

In addition, I was honoured to write this little ditty for [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 for the [livejournal.com profile] harrydracompreg fest - it's silly, not squicky and I had a fantastic time coming up with the plot. Thank you to everyone who commented - I'll reply later tonight when the modem might be more co-operative. Thank you, also, to my fellow mods, [livejournal.com profile] sassy_cissa, [livejournal.com profile] kittyfic, and [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae!

Title: The Proof Is In the Potion
Prompt: Breaking the news to Draco's parents.
Rating: NC17
Warning(s): Mpreg, duh.
Epilogue compliant? Not even a little bit.
Word Count: ~8K
Summary: Rita Skeeter does some actual research, and damned if she isn’t shocked with what she finds: Draco in the family way, a secret from way-back-when, and Lucius has the most shocking taste in alcoholic beverages.

All for now - I'm mostly back and really missed you guys.

Right, if nothing else, you might stop here to look at the lovely Fuyu no Semi blow-job icon.

So...it's been awhile - hello to old and new friends! *waves* I don't post often, but you can trust hope that what I do have to say is of vital cosmic significance....

Where was I?

Oh yes, firstly, thank-you to [livejournal.com profile] treacle_tartlet, [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12, [livejournal.com profile] nicevenn, and [livejournal.com profile] brissygirl for the cute Yorkie V gifts!

Secondly, how about all of this wonderful fic and art that's been posting lately, huh?! I'm way behind, but will get through it - my must read list grows daily.

Speaking of the "F" word, my [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays and [livejournal.com profile] hd_remix fics are now with my first beta-of-awesome waiting to be systematically taken apart so I can do a Steve Austin on them. I'm halfway through [livejournal.com profile] hp_yule_balls, which is proving slightly trickier because it's not only for a friend that I absolutely love, but it's also a genre and pairing I've not written much of (any of, really) before. I've recruited two very able writers to carry cheer-lead me through it, and I'm certainly loving the process, even if the end result is Bantha poo-doo.

Thirdly, I'm all excited because I'm meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] dark0feenix and anyone else who's interested in London on Tuesday! I'm really looking forward to a day of shopping, lunch and gossip. Please let me know if you'd like to join us!!!

Fourthly, happy birthday to my toy-boy for tomorrow! He'll be a whole 30 years old!! WooOT! Nothing especially big planned to celebrate it (unless getting my flu jab counts) and anyway, we're all far too damn busy in the next few weeks. He's being deployed again in early November till the middle of January, so it's all go here getting stuff sorted out and recruiting slaves friends to help out as my life doesn't actually get LESS busy during that time. Where is Molly Weasley when I need her?!

And finally, there's no way I'm sitting through another SCD Results Show and have already looked up who's gone out. Not my first choice, but it was bound to happen. My first choice was the other person in the bottom two, who never fails to make me want to smash something upside his/her head.

That is all.

Hello all!

Thank you so much for the yummy cookies: [livejournal.com profile] alovelycupoftea, Anonymous Gryff Pirate, [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12, [livejournal.com profile] cinnatart, [livejournal.com profile] faithwood, [livejournal.com profile] fancypantsdylan, [livejournal.com profile] girlofavalon, [livejournal.com profile] lilyginny27, [livejournal.com profile] phoenixacid, [livejournal.com profile] pink_mint, and [livejournal.com profile] treacle_tartlet!

Attention all of the wonderful, stupendous, and magnificent people who are donating art, fic and gifts to the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup: this is a gentle reminder that it is now 8 weeks away. We have already had in some brilliant submissions and can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring. We realise that you all have many other fest/WIP commitments and you've still got loads of time, so feel free to give us the finger for reminding you now :) And remember, these are drawbles and drabbles - please don't lose sleep over them!

Happy Mother's Day ♥ for tomorrow to all of the NA mommies out there - including my own (who won't actually be reading this, but still...thought it was a nice thing to say).

And, as threatened promised, a few holiday snaps! )

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hello flist, from Day 3 of SNOW and SCHOOL CLOSURES. My base recorded the coldest temperature in England and the roads are like...meh.

There's only so many snowmen I can make (I think I've reached my limit), and we're now once again back to the distractions that are reading books, the Peppa Pig computer game, Lego, Play-Do and the DVD library.

So, time for a quick update and a few reasons to smile:

* HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] brissygirl! I hope you have a wonderful day! (Or rather, had one, as I think it's almost tomorrow where you are:)

* I am pleased to announce that the 2010 HP UK MEET-UP is taking place 2-4 July in Edinburgh. If you'd like to attend, please join us at [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup.

* [livejournal.com profile] kilter is pleased to announce that the first of the spring shoe collections are now on offer in the Pacific Northwest. and will be supplying all of HSU with new footwear this season.

* Attention people of York: [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 and [livejournal.com profile] softly_sweetly are together for the weekend within your city walls. Now would be a good time for that French holiday you were all planning for later in the spring.

* OMGSQUEE! My somewhat fanciful and very AU story In the Beginning has been nominated at the [livejournal.com profile] forbiddenawards!!! Thank you all so much for the lovely response this piece has received! If you haven't read it and you like porny bed-time stories, please give it a try. I'm so chuffed and incredibly excited to be nominated! I have no idea how it will fare, but it's enough to have got to this amazing place! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Okay, this is Dramione. Get up off the floor - you read that right. I took this on for the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup for the lovely [livejournal.com profile] robs55.

Personally, I can see them getting along because they're in so many classes together and they're both smart (and get past that little incident in 3rd year), but I can't see the romance angle. Of course, I can't see any of the canon romances either, so what do I know?

At any rate, I thought I would take my "I-just-don't-see-what-they'd-have-in-common" doubts and run with them. (I kinda stumbled along with them, but it's at least moving in the right direction.)

Enjoy...if you like that kind of thing. )

I'm not sick...yet. It wasn't our intention for you all to leave the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup with a cold, but it sounds as though many of you have. My prescription for recovery is a couple more days off school/work and a healthy helping of pr0n.

Drabblers and artists - I am talking to YOU now.

THANK YOU

You are the awesomest people on the planet! Your gifts were the biggest talking point of the meet-up! Everyone loved that they had personalised drabbles and to show our appreciation, we have a litle something for you. I'll need your snail mail addys to get them to you, so if you've a mind, please comment with it (screened, of course). I promise to Obliviate myself after sending these things out :)

I also have another couple of heart-felt messages to the meet-up team:

Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] alovelycupoftea for all of her hard work personalising the goodie bags with each of the attendees names. She also did an awesome job as an emcee to "Win, Lose or Draw", which we will play again (but the dirty version) at the next meet-up.

Ginormous thanks to my roomie [livejournal.com profile] softly_sweetly, who picked up on my subtle and slightly tipsy hint: "Ohbythewayguysmypaidaccountisabouttoexpireifanyofyouwantstoknow." You're already booked into Chez Phillips for a visit this winter and I'll put your name down as my roomie at the next event.

[livejournal.com profile] cleo_jay's huge box of chocolates is now almost gone, courtesy of my children and husband. Oh, okay, and me.

I'd also like to thank [livejournal.com profile] multiclassgeek for his help with the setting-up and sorting-out for us. We were lucky to have you with us.

And I couldn't finish this post without mentioning the unfailing patience, help, humour, generosity and all around exceptional organisational skills of my partner in crime, [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12. Funnily enough, the process was nearly as fun as the final product! I hope I can bribe talk you into doing the same with the next one.

And speaking of that, we've had a few suggestions already for a May Bank Holiday (28-31/5) get-together, so if you're interested, join the comm if you aren't already on it. From the looks of it, the hotel is cheaper and so is the breakfast! Wo0T!

And to everyone I met last weekend - I feel very lucky to have met so many wonderful people. That was THE most fun I've had in a very long time. I look forward to seeing you all again!

Finally, I'd like to thank my husband who thought to save me the trouble of doing the laundry and very nicely did it for me in my absence. Yup, the kids' white school shirts went in with my red blouses. I think you know how this story ends...ah well. ♥

Sorry for the CAPSLOCK moment, but it's getting close and I'm excited! Thanks to everyone for the drabbles/stories/drawbels/art - I'm still waiting a couple from my last post, but for the most part, we're done! All drabblers/drawblers will get a thank-you post card! If this is you - please leave your address details (comments are screened).

Edit: Oh, and yes, please feel free to post anything after Sunday!

But even if you didn't drabble/drawbled and would like a postcard from the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup, please leave your address details in this post and [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 and I will write them out with our sparkly pens and get them sent to you! First 15, only, please, as I need the rest of my dosh to buy shoes presents for my kids.

And I'd also like to wish [livejournal.com profile] dorotea, the esteemed HSU Librarian, a wonderful and happy birthday! You have my permission to burn down your place, utter any incantation you want, and generally have a great time with your EAs! *backs goat lorry into Admin Building*

ATTENTION UK MEET-UP DRABBLERS! Once again, we'd like to thank everyone who has contributed their wonderful (and often hawt) little fics.

The UK meet-up is now one week away - please to be doing one of the following:

*Write a drabble (see below) and email it to either myself or [livejournal.com profile] cassie_black12 by Wednesday, 30 September so we can print it out on pretty parchment and tie it up with a nice ribbon for a meet-up attendee. jweiss@tulanealumni.net/cassie_black@hotmail.co.uk

*Tell us you're not able to write the drabble and we'll bribe some other poor sucker have a go ourselves (which will be highly amusing since we don't ship these folks - case in point - my Dramione drabble is an amusing pile of poo).

Please don't worry if you don't have the time. We appreciate you're all busy and this is a huge favour. Please do tell us you're not able to write these if you can't because we don't want to have to cram them into the last-minute stuff we have to do.

Here's what we're waiting on:

[livejournal.com profile] ladyoneill - LM/HP
[livejournal.com profile] delphipsmith - LL gen
[livejournal.com profile] noeon - AS/S Meesa wants!
[livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic - HP/DM/SS
ANYONE - H/D, please! Lots of it!

Remember, these don't have to be long or involved. A PWP will do nicely (except you, [livejournal.com profile] delphipsmith :). Need more inspiration? Here's a few more prompts which I've just thought up for no good reason: trying to work a video-recorder/mobile phone, cheating on an exam, arguing over house-work, breaking & entering.

Need more info? Comment or email! We love you all and thank you so much for your help. There will be remuneration.

Of a sort.

Honest.

Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladyoneill for the (albeit) late birthday presents! I got a fab musical card with my favourite boy on it and another lovely SW Christmas ornament with my favourite ebil galactic emperor on it. And godson Iain got a nifty KU shirt which he's worn to bed.

Ginormous thanks to the talented and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] stellamoon, whose contribution to the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup arrived today. *takes it out and stares at it some more* And PROPS a-plenty to everyone who has donated some amazing drabbles so far. We want to keep them all- muhahahahaaaaaa! But we won't... And we can always use more - [livejournal.com profile] ladyoneill, I'm talking to you!

Now, I don't usually rec individual fics or art unless they're gifts for me - mostly because I'm selfish and lazy. Although, I am making an exception for [livejournal.com profile] crack_broom next month, but that's a little different. Isn't it? Yes, I insist it is. So without further ado, I'm recc'ing this whole frakking-fantastic fest:

ATTENTION DRABBLE WRITERS! You asked for a reminder, and here's one for you! The deadline for the [livejournal.com profile] hp_uk_meetup drabbles/drawbles is 10 days away. HUGE thanks to those of you who have already submitted/sent these to us.

We really appreciate this, as we're struggling to keep up with writing them (I've already done a BL/NM (!) and Dramione drabble- so I'm well outside my comfort zone, here). We can always use H/D but if you're wanting something a little less vanilla, let us know, as we have other OTPs to cater for:)

Please to be sending me any drabbles (and they can be as short as 100 words, honest!) or drawbles to jweiss at tulanealumni dot net. You can sign your name to them or leave them anonymous, but do let us know which you'd prefer. Regardless, we will be singing your praises at the meet-up, cause you be fab-o-rino!

I'd also like to wish [livejournal.com profile] ladyoneill a wonderful belated 25 birthday (!) and to warn her that she's in danger of losing the rum again (watches as squid steals it). Not helping.

And now back to listening to the White Sox preparing to crucify the Royals *le sigh*
